The Great Exchange

Lonely Hands by Riccardo Cuppini

Beauty for ashes,

He’s longing for an exchange.
He wants to pump life back into you,
And heal you of your pain.

So your eyes are opened,
And tears are dried,
Joy and Life He’ll give you,
Pushing hopelessness aside!

You’ve been through much heartache,
Though down a path paved with desire
Now He’s beckoning you to Him
To seek something… Someone higher.
He is the One,
Who has the love you’ve missed
He is the One,
Who for __ years you’ve…

But now your Holy Bridegroom
Is  longing to take your hand.
So He can speak Truth into your heart
To help you understand
That He will still give you His mercy
Grace–that came at a high price
Crown of thorns, 39 lashes
Ridicule, His blood, His life.
This is no fairytale,
But the Truth of what He gave
And still counted it all joy
Just
To see
YOU saved

Saved not merely from hell,
But a life ruled by sin
Sin leads to momentary pleasures
But even that has its end

Saved to live. Saved to experience joy.

Saved to be a blessing to this world,

That satan came to steal, kill, destroy!

THIS is the year of the great exchange
Beauty for your ashes
Sunshine IN your rain
You know something has to give
This time GIVE Him your all
So that you can really live,
Will you answer His patient call…

Come exchange what’s in your hand?
Let it go so you can receive.
It’s not easy, He understands.
But He has what you really need.

You’ve said: “Meaningless, meaningless,
Everything is meaningless”
But Jesus is the Way, the Life
The Truth

Remember your Creator
In the days of your youth   (Ecclesiastes 12:)
Turn to Him
Surrendering your past
He can give you beauty for your ashes
The great exchange at last

I am a passionate Jesus disciple, wife, mother, teacher, friend who's life mission is to "Reveal Christ to the lost, spur on the saints, and serve as a beckon of freedom through the edifying images I paint." My pen is my paintbrush, and words are my artistry. I plan to use them both to inspire us to live JoyfullyAlive, because WE WERE MADE TO THRIVE! "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." ~ Jesus (John 15:11)

Loved the exchange. The most unfair of exchanges and all for our gain!! Very encouraging!!!

Yes! Such a gracious God. I love Him so.

This poem was dedicated to someone in particular, and she said she’d write her testimony about eventually making that exchange herself, years after I presented her with this poem. I’ll publish her words once she does.

I watered the seed that was planted in her early youth, and God wooed her to Him, beckoning her to exchange what she held on to in order to receive something of greatest worth: His LOVE; His Presence! HIS GRACE!

She is a testimony of God’s desire for us all. Lest I forget that He beckoned me to make the exchange and continues to invite me into greater intimacy. I haven’t regretted it. There is no other way to live.

Righteousness, peace, and joy is our portion in Him! The more I’m captivated by His love, the more I experience what He died and rose again that I could experience.

    “You will show me the path of life;
    In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalms 16:
