I AM before I DO

Lately I’ve been a bit focused on identity. The Word, Holy spirit-led teachings and prayer have been at the core.

I’ve shared some of what I’ve been learning with trusted people, some of which might wonder what’s all this focus for.

Well, when you’ve lived in fear of being strong, and then you start to believe your identity as fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139), you don’t care so much if (with some) you don’t belong because Gods voice you have obeyed.

From childhood I knew I was different. In fact, being different is what most with my Ennegram personality type would embrace. The problem came when hatred, rejection and accusations stared me smack dab in the face.

I cowered.

I hid.

I didn’t want others to see me as too bold, so hang my head low is what I did!

My light under a bushel, feigned ignorance galore…

But I hated living my life in such limbo…

fear

made me

crumble

to

the floor.

No more!

I won’t be small to give another “peace” of mind. I’ll be who God created me to be–He who commands, “Let your light shine!”

If my shine makes some uncomfortable, they should ask God why I’m rubbing them the wrong way.

Then let’s come together, let love heal, and God willing, shine together as ONE bright ray.

I’m not threatened by your shine, because I’m confident God’s given me mine.

Identity is where it’s at.

The Lord has fashioned us unique…we compete when we think we rise when others lack.

In order to feel high, why must we bring another low. That’s the foundation of fearful insecurity. Friends let’s not reap what insecurities sow.

It is the antithesis of love. With eyes focused on shining brightER we won’t be ONE…for which Christ shed His blood.

Go on your journey of discovery too. Know who God is and who He wants to be IN and THROUGH…

YOU!

Then we can “get it and not sweat it.”

We don’t have to walk around with self-focussed pride. Know WHOSE and WHO you are, then you can push self thought aside.

Easy…short…must read!

Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less often. We love more selflessly when we can lift up a friend or foe’s bowed chin.

Ourselves nolonger looking down, we can focus on loving God and those for whom… IN HIM our identity abounds.

Freely we’ve received, so freely we will give. BEing firmly rooted in who He is, For God’s glory and His joy…Jesus lived.

I long for that joy and so the deeper revelations of identity I’ll pursue. As a matter of fact, I’ll love you more selflessly as I live from that internal breakthrough.

God called Jesus His beloved Son in whom He was well pleased. Then that very identity the thief immediately tried to sieze.

Do you see it?

Identity is at the root.

Abiding in who God is to us and who we are in Him, must precede our life’s great fruit.

So my prayer for you and me is that we will know the truth. Then we’ll walk in humility and our selfless love will be the proof.

I AM before I DO.

Find out who God says you are?

Then live like you believe it’s true!

Shine bright in fellowship with other stars, each with his/her distinct hue.

Dear friends, you and I were made to thrive. It’s time we do because in God’s love we abide.

It’s time we become through Holy Spirit…loving, peaceful, and JoyfullyAlive! So get into the Word and into identity take a dive.

You ARE before you DO. Think what life would be like if your believed that this was true.
