Come Whatever Wave

The waves were bound to come.

Besides they were the object of vacation beach fun.

When out into the deeper zone, the boogy board for Judah felt like home.

One issue arose, as my son fell off the board.

A large wave was headed his way, and about to swallow him as it poured.

There was no stopping the wave, and he was oblivious to its looming power.

His dad saw it coming, so he crashed through the water, as the wave began to tower.

He grabbed his son and swam with him, safe in his arms.

The wave still crashed down, but Judah was neither engulfed nor harmed.

His dad carried him, though he wasn’t spared from the wave.

His dad carried him so he wouldn’t go under. His dad, his protecter–God used him to save.

This reminds me of our Savior.

He sees the waves approaching in our lives.

He knows their crashing power, and comes into our circumstance for the rescue dive.

He carries us through, though at times we are oblivious to how things would have been.

We might have been swallowed whole…IF it was not for Him.

Submerged by doubt. Submerged by fear. Submerged by depression if our deliverer wasn’t near.

He comes to our rescue, as in Judah’s case, like his loving dad.

Waves crash over us in life, but in God’s arms they’re not AS bad.

He will never allow more than we can bear, as we are nestled in His arms of love.

He’s an everpresent help in times of trouble; our help comes from above.

Waves crash over, but may they never drown my soul. He doesn’t always spare me from the waves, but salvation is still His goal.

I’ll let God carry me. Feel His arms around my waist. He buoies my soul through the waves. This IS His saving grace.

Waves are no match for His saving power, so when I am faced with life’s waves…relying on His strength could be my finest hour.

You see, His arms are not too short to save, let Him carry us dear friends–come

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].

I can feel when my mind starts to creep and to doubt

On the days when the strength in my heart’s giving out

There’s a light but it hides from me deep in the cloud

There’s a voice that I need but I don’t hear a sound

Ever running to what I can’t see

Fighting out of all my unbelief

Father, even then my song will be

I know You will always carry me

It’s inevitable

Set Your promise to play on repeat in my head

When You meet my anxiety, put it to death

Ever running to what I can’t see

Fighting out of all my unbelief

Father, even then my song will be

I know You will always carry me

It’s inevitable

It’s inevitable

It’s inevitable

It’s inevitable

I am a passionate Jesus disciple, wife, mother, teacher, friend who's life mission is to "Reveal Christ to the lost, spur on the saints, and serve as a beckon of freedom through the edifying images I paint." My pen is my paintbrush, and words are my artistry. I plan to use them both to inspire us to live JoyfullyAlive, because WE WERE MADE TO THRIVE! "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." ~ Jesus (John 15:11)
