We’re called to remember
In the deepest, darkest, deserts of life
God’s goodness is an oasis for the soul
Feasting on who He is revives…
Hope
Because He’s the same as He’s always been
He will work all the evil for good,
Even the heinous sin
Justice
I hear her crying in the streets
She wails with blood from two bullets
Streaming down her cheeks
Fear of the future of other fellows
Breaks my heart in two
Then I choose to remember God’s goodness
And I declare, “Justice will shine through!”
Ahmaud did not have to die,
Lord be with his mother, his family
America knows the reason why
We pray that the courts will hear and see
Hatred?
Fear?
Coursing through veins of two men
They felt right in their own eyes, but THIS time LET justice win
Heal their hearts but may Lady Liberty not turn a blinded eye
Ahmaud gunned down, jogging while black
The video of hatred tells no lie
Lord, You are good.
Love mercy, do justly, walk humbly is Your call.
Bring good from this tragedy.
May Justice for Ahmaud arise, though #HETOO fell victim to the fall
The fall of humanity when sin in hearts remains unchecked
Heal our land Dear Father.
I recall Your goodness,
John 11,
“Jesus wept.”
You care for the deceased.
So should I.
So let the courts hear our justice cry
Let her also weep, “Ahmaud should
not
have
died.”
You are the resurrection and the life.
Resurrect justice and compassion in the Earth
In the deepest, darkest, deserts of life
I recall Your goodness when you put love first.
You died for those who hated/feared You
They did not know they were blind guides
You said forgive them Father, for they know not what they do
With Ahmaud You truly empathize
So Lord, let justice be found behind the courtroom doors
Still, In Your goodness
Heal us more
Heal our land
Atlantic to Pacific shore.
